Appearance
Small shark with only one dorsal fin (the first one is missing). Anal fin large. Pointed snout with well developed nostris.
Coloration
Uniformly dark (blackish).
Distribution
Western Pacific: Philippines.
Biology
A little-known deepwater species. Bottom living.
Feeding
Unknown.
Size
A holotype: Only one specimen has been found to date, and it was 50 cm long.
Reproduction
Unkown.
Similar Species
Unmistakable, since it is the only shark species that possesses only one dorsal fin and has five gill slits.
